Help us welcome our new counselor to MIS! Ms. Candace Canady is joining us from MHS. We are excited for her to transition into this new role.
The following is the complete information submitted by Ms. Canady:
I am honored to serve as the new school counselor at MIS. As a proud Morrilton alumna, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to give back to a community that has played a meaningful role in my life. I bring 17 years of educational experience to this role, having taught preschool for 12 years and served as a teacher at MHS for 5 years. I hold a bachelor’s degree in general education and special education, as well as a master’s degree in school counseling with a specialization in trauma and crisis.
Outside of my professional role, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, singing at church, and shopping.
I look forward to building positive relationships and working collaboratively with all students, families, and staff to ensure students feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve personal and academic success.
