Answer: Temps are forecasted to be slightly above freezing on Wednesday. Expect a later announcement since we want to give sunshine and melting a chance. Hope for the best, but plan for a possible closure since this icepack is very solid.
Due to the bad road conditions, extreme cold temperatures, the refreezing of roads in the morning, and for the safety of our scholars and staff, the South Conway County School District will not have school on Wednesday, January 17th.
A decision regarding school for the SCCSD on Wednesday, January 17th will be made by 5:30 p.m. today.

There will no school in the South Conway County School District on Monday, January 15, 2024, observe Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
A warming center will be open beginning Friday, January 12th at 5:00 p.m. through Monday, January 15th at the Morrilton Intermediate School Gym.
If there is a need for a warm place, enter on the north side of the gym. Signage will be on the door.
The warming will only be available when students are not present at school.
A group of MHS students had the honor of attending the Dr. MLK Prayer Breakfast at UCA today. They were welcomed by UCA Provost /Vicepresidente, Dr Patricia Poulter as they were the only students from the secondary level in attendance.
